The ProSoil Project in Western Kenya, supported by GIZ under the SEWOH initiative of BMZ, promotes soil conservation and rehabilitation to combat land degradation, enhance food security, and support climate change adaptation. Implemented by Eco-sustainet through Tembea as a local partner, the project works in Bungoma, Kakamega, and Siaya counties with smallholder farmers—who produce over 70% of Kenya’s food. By addressing declining soil fertility, high input costs, and climate challenges, ProSoil strengthens sustainable farming practices and safeguards rural livelihoods.
